So You Want to Live in the Renaissance?

Cut and Construction of European Dresses: 1480-1600

Come spend some time with Baron José as he discusses the key measurements of a lady’s bodice, helps build patterns for varying body types, and analyzes the differences in cut and construction that took place over the course of the Renaissance, from mid-15th century to the end of the 16th century. The class will also go over methods of attaching sleeves and a skirt to the bodice to complete a dress in multiple styles.

Bring note-taking materials and a tape measure if you can. Participating populace will be able to get assistance taking measurements and leave with a bodice pattern suitable for making a dress with no corset required.
