Hello wonderful populace of Dragons Mist. Today is the delayed Virtual Edition of the Baronial Business Meeting. While due to misfortune most foul we lack a copy of the Dragons Tongue at this time, I am glad to bring you digital copies of several worthies Letters of Intent. I have added these blow along with links to the original file for those who wish to download them and peruse at your conveyance.

Chatelaine_LadyEleanor
Unto the Coronets of Dragon’s Mist, the current Seneschal, and the wonderful populace of the Barony of Dragon’s Mist, do I, Lady Eleanor Planpedis send warmest greetings. This letter shall serve as my intention to put myself forward for consideration as a candidate for the next term of service for the office of Chatelaine for the great Barony of Dragon’s Mist.
I have been playing in the SCA off and on since 2002. I consider myself a creative person, who is curious about how people used to live. In my mundane life, I work as a network administrator to a small tech company.
The role of Chatelaine is one of great responsibility, as they are the first contact for many who enter into our game. As well as creating opportunities for new members, and educational demos for the public, the chatelaine should also be helping to facilitate educational experiences for current members. I feel I can bring a lot to the role of Chatelaine. I previously held the position before in the Barony of Adiantum which afforded me the opportunity to experience how the office operates and the integral part this role plays in the barony. The role of Chatelaine is one of responsibility, as they are the first contact for many who enter into our game. As well as creating opportunities for new members and educational demos for the public, the chatelaine should also be helping to facilitate educational experiences for current members. I have experience creating this in my former barony, as well as in modern life. I used to be a preschool teacher, where I learned how to coordinate lessons, figure out where a group of people are in their learning journey, and how to figure out their learning needs. It taught me people management skills that taught me how to delegate and follow up effectively, without micromanaging. It is my opinion that the Chatelaine, along with the coronets and the seneschal, helps to set the tone for the barony. In this time of transition in the Society to be more inclusive, it is important for the Chatelaine to have the ability to lead with inclusive language, and help both current members and newcomers to our society feel comfortable using inclusive language as well. My experiences navigating this kind of transitions in the modern tech world have given me the tools to address this with kindness and understanding.
I also see the Chatelaine as someone to help facilitate baronial cohesiveness. In our busy modern lives it is easy to get caught up in all of our modern concerns. If chosen as Chatelaine I would coordinate online socializing opportunities while we are in this period of plague. I would also like to see a generalized newcomer’s social at the same time and site as fighter’s practice, (when it is safe to resume), to further this goal and provide an informal gathering place for newcomer’s to just hang out and learn from our knowledgeable populace.

Seneschal – Gundahar
Greetings Dragon’s Mist,
It is I Gundahar, I seek to be the next Seneschal of Dragon’s Mist. I have had various experiences since I started playing 5 years ago. From Event Steward to Kingdom retinue to Contiginent Seneschal.
Mundanely I have a lot of Customer service experience that I would greatly benefit from as Seneschal. Conflict resolution is one of my main skill sets. also have 8 years in the military where I had the privilege of working with brand new recruits all the way up to generals.in this I l;earned a lot about etiquette and decorum as well as stressful situations in wich you have to keep a cool level head.
I know in these times being clear and concise is extremely important as most of everything right now is in the virtual world. One of the emphasis i would be putting forward would be seeking a social media deputy due to the restrictions in these times.
I have a firm believe that communication will make or break an organization be it a for profit or a non profit the case is the same. my goal for any meetings or such is to have information out as to atleast the time of the function 30 days out.
As always I will do everything I can to make people feel like I can be as approachable as possible wether its for something positive or negative.
I would love to be the next Seneschal.

To Their Excellencies of Dragon’s Mist, Istvan and Idonia as well as the populace.
I am writing today with the intention of placing myself forward for the full term of the office of Seneschal of Dragon’s Mist. I have played in the SCA for over 20 years, held Baronial Officership, Deputy and Champion positions as far back as Dragon’s Mist’s days as a shire.
I have run a thriving, service oriented household for over 7 years, while pursuing my dream of becoming a peer of the realm, which I also achieved in 2017 at their Majesties’ will.
I have a strong background in administrative work, group projects, group management and support as well as some peer to peer counseling. I love working with people, and hope to bring that stretch to our vibrant Barony. I have been an active part of this Barony since it’s inception and hope to be long into the future.
I am currently serving as the Interm Seneschal at this time.

Target Archery Marsha – Rashida bint Yusuf
Greetings unto Sir István, Seneschal and soon-to-be Baron of Dragon’s Mist, and to others it may concern,
I, HL Rashida bint Yusuf (Order of the Goutte de Sang, Order of the Sable Gauntlet, Yeoman of Wastekeep, current Archery Defender of the Shire of Mountain’s Edge) do hereby write this letter to declare my intent to step up into the position of Target Archery Marshal for the Barony of Dragon’s Mist, should I be allowed the privilege of doing so.
Qualifications:
- Senior Target Archery Marshal
- Former Wastekeep Baronial TAM and Inlands Regional TAM
- Current Dragon’s Mist Youth Archery Marshal
I have had so much fun thus far doing archery in Dragon’s Mist. The best day was at Boar’s Head 2019, when in addition to running the youth and adult novelty prize shoots, I spontaneously started a just-for-fun prize shoot, which attracted a large crowd of new and experienced archers!
As your Youth TAM, I have already:
- Made an inventory of our archery equipment (both youth and adult) and organized the storage boxes
- Been an archery MIC at two DM events
- Done a lot of walking and the inaugural marshaling in the little back blacktop lot at the St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church site
- Gotten official PCC Rock Creek answers about parking at the THPRD free outdoor archery range
As your Baronial TAM, I would like to accomplish the following:
- Have a monthly youth/adult free archery practice at PCC RC (weather and plague-allowing)
- Train up Junior and Senior TAMs to enrich the Barony and grow our archery love
- Put together a few options (for Baronial discussion and approval) for an archery range set-up at St. Bart’s so we can do archery there at appropriate events, even though the blacktop isn’t an ideal surface (I have ideas about that!)
White Dragon Pursuivant – Dragomira Skomorokhova
Greetings! I, Dragomira Skomorokhova, do hereby submit my letter of intent for the office of White Dragon Pursuivant. I have been studying the position as the contingency deputy over the last year and feel confident in my abilities to fulfill the duties of the position. I have been attending classes, as well as teaching the introductory course in Heraldry for the new comers class.
I began playing in the SCA in Ansteorra in 1995, and have previously held the office of Minister of Children and Seneschal in the Barony of Wiesenfeuer. I am familiar with reporting practices in the SCA. Prior to my interest in Heraldry, I have spent a great deal of time as a titled bard for different groups, so I am familiar with being in front of a group performing, and I enjoy being a part of the pomp and ritual that brings a kind of magic to the dream.
Mundanely, I grew up in community and high school theater, and spent my first two years of college as a Theater major, before changing to History, and then taking a break and finally finishing as a Photography major.
It is my hope to keep the current team of deputies who are already doing a wonderful job for the Barony.
